Dermal filler is an aesthetic injection used to fill facial hollows and add natural-looking volume; it is commonly based on hyaluronic acid. It helps restore facial fullness and soften wrinkles, and may improve atrophic (sunken) acne scars depending on the case. Common treatment areas include cheeks (lift and contour), under-eyes (dark circles and under-eye lines), chin (recessed or wide chin correction), lips (definition, hydration-like plumpness, and reducing lip lines), temples (better facial balance), and jawline definition (more structured look, especially for longer faces). Results are typically immediate, and longevity varies by area: lips around 6 months, cheeks/temples/jawline about 8–12 months, and under-eye filler about 12–18 months.
